The package is available as source tarball,
as binary package for Debian 6.0 on i386 and amd64 machines,
as binary package for Fedora 17 on x86_64 machines,
and as binary package for openSUSE 12.1 on x86_64 machines.
The binary distributions are for your convenience only. If you have one of the Distributions above, and you aren't interested in the sources anyway, installing the binaries is way faster than building from source. Please note that the binaries are fully featured and do require all packages that are optional in a build from source.
The recommended way of getting Xplorer is to download the source distribution, and to build the binaries on your computer. This allows for maximum flexibility, but you will need a C++ compiler, and the development files of all dependent libraries (and of the optional libraries you want to use).
